Doing a thousand crunches and sit-ups will definitely help you to strengthen your stomach muscles, and can produce a nice 6-pack, but you’ll never see it if you don’t get rid of the layer of fat on top. Since weight loss happens evenly all over the body, not in just one spot, so you’ll have to work extra hard to get rid of problem areas. Look for exercises that will burn lots of calories, such as running, and don’t forget to concentrate on eating a healthy, balanced diet to fuel your weight-loss efforts.
