Having an Oily Skin?.. solutions are here!

With reference to the previous  article which has been talking about the
best way to take care of the face skin, in this article we will follow
the same direction in recognizing one of the very difficult type of the
skins which called the oily skin and how to deal with it ,
Which may cause a lot of embarrassment for the girls and especially in
the adolescence. The resulting problems, particularly acne

Caring for Oily Skin

Oily
skin is caused by over-active glands, which produce too much sebum.
Sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands. It is necessary as it helps
lubricate your skin and carries away dead skin cells. When the skin is
oily, too much sebum is being produced. This article tells you:
  • What are the problems faced by people having oily skin?
  • How food intake and oily skin are associated?
  • What causes oily skin?
The right oily skin care
is essential for anyone with oily skin. Oily skin does not look healthy
and is prone to skin problems like acne. It is important that such skin
be given proper treatment for oily skin.

What is oily skin and how is it caused?

Oily
skin is caused by over-active glands, which produce too much sebum.
Sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands. It is necessary as it helps
lubricate your skin and carries away dead skin cells. When the skin is
oily, too much sebum is being produced. The skin becomes dull and greasy
and pores may become clogged.

The extra secretion of sebum can
be caused by many factors. Heredity, diet, birth control pills and the
wrong cosmetics can all cause oily skin. Hormonal balances can also
affect the production of sebum, which is why oily skin is often common
in teenagers, pregnant women or women going through menopause.

Problems Faced by People with Oily Skin

People
with oily skin often suffer from skin problems, like blemishes, acnes,
black heads, white heads and pimples. Enlarged and clogged pores may be a
problem. Oily skin often looks dull and shiny. With the right oily skin
treatment, it is possible to treat such problems.

How to have less oily skin

Oily
skin, and the problems it brings, can be minimized. Thorough cleansing
can prevent some of the problems associated with oily skin, as it
removes the dirt and dust and stops the pores becoming clogged. As
make-up can also clog pores, it is important that all make-up is removed
before going to bed. Here are some more tips on how to have less oily
skin.

NATURAL METHODS

Natural oily skin care can be very effective. Food intake, proper
hydration, herbal care and other natural remedies can all help provide
the proper treatment for oily skin.

Food Intake

To improve your oily skin through nutrition, eat plenty of foods that
are rich in protein. Include lots of leafy vegetables and fresh fruit.
Vitamin B2 can help prevent oily skin, so include good sources of B2 by
eating wheat germs, whole grains, beans and nuts.

Cut down on the amount of sugar and fat in your diet, and avoid soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, chocolate and fried food.

Hydration

People sometimes make the mistake that oily skin does not need to be
hydrated, but oil is not moisture. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking
plenty of water. A good moisturizer, that is suited to oily skin, can
also help keep your oily skin hydrated.

Best Scrub Around

An amazing body scrub that does wonders and leaves your skin super clean and soft is sugar, lemon & olive oil scrub.

Ingredients: Mix 5 Tbs sugar , 1/4 cup olive oil , 1/2 a lemon and 1ts of grounded cinnamon and rubbing it on your body, you can wash it immediately but leaving it for 1 or 2 minutes is better so that your skin will have enough time to absorb the olive oil.

A great addition to this scrub would be melted cocoa butter (take care it melts very quickly). Cocoa butter leaves skin smooth and is generally very good for healing scars, stretch marks and other skin problems.

Some prefer putting the warm cocoa butter after the scrub and leaving it in. Make sure you only add a little bit, a dollop or so, you don't want to have oil and sticky skin.

NOTE:

1) If you feel that this mask is very strong for your face. Limit using it to your body.

2)If your skin gets reddish take out the cinnamon from the mask.

3) If you have any skin allergies or your skin is very sensitive try this scrub on a small part at first.

Reduce large pores with this trick

Enlarged pores are generally genetic, they also tend to affect oily skin especially the T zone, and with our polluted and dusty weather they store a lot of dirt giving the skin an unclean, un-fresh appearance.
In order to minimize your pores as much as you can, fill a small spritzer with rose water and after washing your face very well spritz your naked (without makeup) face everyday right before you go out.
Rose water helps reduce enlarged pores not only that your face will smell like flowers for quiet sometime.

Cleanse, Nourish and Maintain a Youthful Face

Many of us have tried a steam facial before it opens the pores and allows you to cleanse them through the usual cleansing methods. The new thing about this facial is that  besides opening your pores it will increase blood circulation and nourish your skin.
Ingredients for Steam Mask:
1tsp cinnamon.
3tbs chamomile.
1tbs honey.
Ingredients for Scrub:
2tbs grounded oatmeal (blend it until its a fine powder)
2 tbs full cream milk.
1 tsp honey.
Directions:

  • In a wide, deep bowl add the honey, make sure to always add it first, followed by the chamomile and the cinnamon.

  • Then boil water and add it to the mixture, make sure you fill the bowl only half way up.

  • Then follow the usual steam mask routine, position your face just above the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel.

  • Every 30 to 60 seconds lift your face to inhale enough air.

  • After 10 minutes apply the above scrub mixture to your face and massage gently then rinse.

  • Sometimes the cinnamon is a bit strong for the face causing it to turn really red, if this happens follow the scrub with a cold plain yogurt mask for 10 minutes.
Note: It is normal to feel a tingly sensation during the steam mask, if it is strong then cinnamon is probably not for you; stop the steam mask immediately and rinse your face with lukewarm water then apply the scrub followed by the cold yogurt.
Also make sure not add cinnamon to the this facial or any other facial again.

20 Ways To Never Look Tired

Have you ever had a coworker, acquaintance, or even a complete stranger tell you, “You look tired”? Didn’t you just want to punch them? While I find uttering this heinous phrase to someone socially unacceptable, every lady has had a late night at some point that left them looking like a zombie the next day.

Here’s a list of 20 ways to stay looking awake and refreshed to make sure you never hear that awful phrase from an insensitive acquaintance again:

Hang your head upside down. Blood rushes to your face, giving you a wide-awake flush; plus, the simple motion of bending over backward will wake up your muscles and make you feel energized. You can always try a quick backbend instead if you’ve already done your hair and don’t want to mess it up.
Try a ponytail facelift. Pulling your hair into a high, tight ponytail literally gives your face a little lift, so you’ll look refreshed. Plus, the high, bouncy style declares “Up and at ‘em!”
Use a spoon on your eyes.
Dab on some shiny pink lip gloss to give your face color and draw attention away from your weary eyes.
Take a cold and hot shower. Alternating blasts of hot and cold water in your morning shower revs circulation and returns color to your skin.
Try an icy facial. Add a drop of lemon juice and olive oil to the water in each square of your ice cube tray. Once it’s frozen, run an ice cube over your face. The cold reduces puffiness, while the lemon juice’s citric acid tightens skin and the olive oil adds moisture.
Choose eyeliner shades that fight redness. Use a navy eyeliner pencil on the inner rim of your upper eyelashes to make the whites of your eyes appear brighter. Then, try a white eye pencil on the inner lower rim.
Give your eyes a caffeine boost. Dip cotton pads in some brewed coffee and press them gently underneath your eyes to eliminate puffiness and undereye circles. Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor and diuretic, so it shrinks blood vessels, minimizes dark circles and reduces swelling.
Avoid salty foods. Excess sodium can leave you looking puffy, especially the MSG found in soy sauce and most Chinese dishes. Beware of sauces in general – since many are cream-based, they absorb salty flavors and are often packed with extra salt you won’t detect with your tongue.
Add more mascara! Load a good three coats onto upper lashes only; tired eyes don’t need any more dark color underneath.
Do a frozen veggie facial. Put a bag of frozen peas, cauliflower or baby carrots over your face for a few minutes – they conform perfectly to your face and cure the sleepy look.
Don’t pile on foundation. Too much sinks into fine lines and masks your natural glow, making you look older – and finishing powder only amplifies the effect.
Wear skin-flattering colors. This is the one time when black doesn’t work – you’ll look paler by contrast. Try a pink scarf to warm up your skin, and avoid dark-colored tops.
Highlight the inner corners of your eyes. This area is prone to looking dark normally, so on zombified days an extra boost of highlighter in inner corners is a must to brighten your eyes.
Try some quick morning beauty fixes.
Quit sleeping face-down. Fluid pools in your facial tissues this way, so your face puffs up and adds to the look of sleep deprivation.
Wear glittery jewelry. The sparkle makes you look lively and put-together. Bling-y earrings will reflect light off your face for an added dose of brightness.
Skip reddish eyeshadow. Eye makeup with red undertones such as roses, plums or browns play up redness in your eyes. Stick to black liner and cool-toned lids.
Combo blush and bronzer. Since your face loses color when you’re wiped out, you need an extra flush. Apply bronzer deep in cheekbones, at the jawline and at the edges of your hairline all around your face. Top cheeks with a shimmery blush to catch light.
Hydrate your skin with actual water to keep from looking sallow and pruny. Come on, you can switch out one of those cups of coffee for an Evian!

12 things women need to know about stretch marks

I really don’t know any woman out there who doesn’t have stretch marks.
That said, some women have stretch marks that are more prominent that
others and for those women, stretch marks become a source of self consciousness.
For some women, stretch marks are solely located around the
belly area, but for some other women they have stretch marks on their arms,
breast, tights and buttock area. Although, it’s going to be very hard to avoid
having stretch marks, there are a number of things women should know
about stretch marks in order to minimize their chances of having to deal with
too many of them.
There are so many facts that most of us women don’t know about stretch
marks that make avoiding them easier. Here are 12 things you need to know
about them:
1. Stretch marks are scientifically known as are a form of scarring. They
usually rear their ugly heads during puberty, or as the result of excessive weight gain, such as during pregnancy.
2. Did you know that even people who engage in body building can get
stretch marks? Yes, stretch marks have nothing to do with the number you
see on your scale.
3. Stretch marks are the result of skin being stretched beyond its natural
elasticity. This stretching causes a disruption of the body’s collagen
production. Collagen is a special protein that helps keep the skin elastic and,
therefore, able to stretch when we gain weight. When this collagen
production is disrupted, the skin loses its elasticity, which makes it more
prone to stretch marks.
Day 170/365 - stretch marks on my thigh from w...Image by size8jeans via Flickr4. Stretch mark are usually found in a series as small, indented streaks. They
are generally rough and uneven. In women with light skin, they are usually a
pink or reddish-brown color. They might sometimes almost look purple. For
darker skinned women, stretch marks are usually brown.
5. Genetics plays a larger role in whether or not you will develop stretch
marks. So, if your mom or her sister have stretch marks … you possible will
be more likely to get them as well (alas).
6. To help avoid getting stretch marks, it is important to monitor weight gain
closely. Pregnant women need to put on weight as a natural part of the
childbearing process. They should, however, be careful to not gain more
weight than what is recommended by the doctor. Pregnant woman should
not, of course, starve themselves in order to avoid stretch marks. They
should, however, take care to watch their diets and put pregnancy weight on
slowly. This gives the skin more time to gradually stretch to accommodate
for the growing baby inside.
7. The last trimester of a pregnancy is when women generally put on the
most weight. This is because this is when the baby is doing most of its
growing. To help avoid stretch marks during this time of the pregnancy, and
at any other time, be sure to regularly apply rich body creams, cocoa butter,
olive oil or shea butter on your skin. Make sure to consult with a doctor,
first, however, because some ingredients found in certain creams can be
harmful to unborn babies.
8. Body cream (aka proper hydration to your body) helps decrease the
likelihood of developing stretch marks because it helps keep the skin
flexible. Likewise, drinking plenty of water helps maintain the skin’s
elasticity. This is especially true if you are pregnant.
9. Fortunately, stretch marks generally fade after weight lost. For women
who gain stretch marks during pregnancy, stretch marks usually fade to a
slightly lighter color than the surrounding skin, though the etching will
always remain.
10. For women who are bodybuilders, it is important to put on muscle mass
slowly. Quickly adding on muscle mass will force the skin to stretch beyond
its ability. Therefore, a bodybuilding program should be designed to slowly
add on bulk.
11. For women who are not pregnant and who are not bodybuilders, the best
way to avoid stretch marks is to simply monitor your diet and maintain a
healthy body weight. Don’t forget that drinking plenty of water is a great

way to help keep the skin more pliable.
12. If you still develop stretch marks, which many women do during puberty
as their bodies rapidly grown, there is little that can be done to get rid of
them. Although there are many lotions and creams on the market claiming to
be able to get rid of stretch marks, there is no proof that they work. There are
also surgeries available to help with lessening the visibility of stretch marks,
but they can’t get rid of stretch marks completely. Instead, the best option is
to cover up the stretch marks. Many women used over-the-counter sunless
tanning lotions to do this, or they get a sunless tanning treatment from a
salon. These lotions help even out the skin color, since the pigmentation of
stretch marks is lighter than the rest of the skin. Getting a real tan, however,
does not have the same effect because stretch marks are scarred tissue and
scarred tissue does not tan the same as healthy tissue.
Through precautions and a healthy lifestyle, most women can help minimize
stretch marks. That said, some of life’s big life-changes, such as puberty and
childbirth, can make avoiding stretch marks nearly impossible. Therefore,
it’s important to apply body creams or hydrating natural oils and drink
plenty of water to keep the skin’s elasticity and, if all else fails, cover up
those stretch marks and chalk it up as just another part of being a woman!

(such as Neutrogena for normal skin). Rinse with water. Pat try with a towel just
enough to absorb moisture do not rub. Wait one hour, and then blot your entire face
with one ply (or layer) of a large facial tissue. Press lightly all over your face and leave

3 Old Wives' Tales About Beauty That Are Total Bull

1. Eating chocolate and greasy foods makes you break out.
Go ahead and chow down. There’s nothing in a candy bar or pepperoni pizza that’s going to make zits suddenly sprout—“unless maybe you rub the pizza across your face a few times,” says New York City dermatologist Diane Berson. (So please, try to hold yourself back.) The only foods that may exacerbate acne are sushi, shellfish, and soy sauce, explains Dr. Berson; they all contain high amounts of iodine, which has been linked to inflammation and breakouts.
2. Dry skin causes wrinkles.
Wouldn’t it be great if a little moisturizer could keep lines at bay? Unfortunately, wrinkles form when collagen breaks down far below the surface of the skin (which is right where dry skin occurs). Moisturizers can improve the appearance of lines, though, by temporarily plumping the parched skin around them. Sun exposure is the number one cause of collagen degeneration, so if you want a moisturizer that offers good wrinkle protection, look for one with sunscreen and an anti-aging antioxidant like vitamin C.
3. Cold water will shrink your pores.
You got your pore size from mom and dad (thanks, guys); not much will change it. “Cold water constricts blood vessels so skin only feels tighter,” says Dr. Hirsch. But you can minimize their appearance on the surface. When pores are clogged with oil and dead skin, they look bigger. A product with salicylic acid cleans them out. Pores also stretch as you lose collagen. And one more time: Sun breaks down collagen. So wear sunscreen—it’ll do more for your pores
