Even on a budget, nearly all ladies still want to maintain their toes and feet appearing pretty and beautiful in front of other people. It's also needless to waste loads of time and money at a local salon, having to make small talk with other women. With the following steps, you can do all of this from home.

First of all, use a cotton ball or swab and take off any nail polish that you may have on at the moment. If you don't, and start using a new coat, you may make the new coat appear horrible. The cleaner your nails look before starting, the superior they will look after you finish.

When you have removed all of the old polish, clip your toenails straight across, leaving about 1/8 of an inch. Do not let your toenails extend beyond the end of your toe. Next, figure your toenails into a gentle square form with an emory board rather than a metal file.

Using some Epson salt, some milk, and hot water, combine it all in a pot big enough to dunk your feet in. The salts are a renowned ingredient to cleansing and beautifying the skin. The lactic acid from the milk assists wash away the dead skin from your feet. Do this for about 15 minutes (or longer if you so desire).

Upon removing your feet from the water, dry them thoroughly and smear cuticle remover to the bed of each nail. Wait a minute or two and push back the cuticle skin with an orangewood stick. Trim any loose cuticle skin with a cuticle remover. Do not cut your toe skin. Use an exfoliating scrub, foot file, or pumice stone to scrub the bottoms of your feet. Here you are trying to velvety the skin, not remove it. If your skin turns extremely red, you are rubbing with too much force.

Rub on some foot cream to your entire feet, including your ankles, toes, and arches. After doing so, rub on a cuticle oil to your cuticles to finish them off nicely. Previous to implementing your layer of polish, you should clean off excess oils with an acetone remover. To protect your nails in the long run, you should apply base coat. You can then proceed to put in a topcoat with 3 layers. Do your best to avoid painting your cuticles. Let your nails dry completely before resuming any physical activity.
